YOUR PRIVACY

Privacy & your choices.

Clear choices. Optional tracking stays off until you allow it.

What this website stores

Optional analytics, advertising tags, and YouTube and Instagram embeds are blocked by default. A tracking provider must be configured and have current permission for its category before its code loads. Opening a media card does not grant permission. The consent system does not create a tracking identifier; approved providers may use their own cookies or identifiers.

Before you choose your settings, the site does not write privacy or introduction preferences to local storage. After you choose, a record named sly-privacy-v1 stays in this browser. It contains your analytics, advertising, YouTube and Instagram choices, the time of your choice, the configuration and consent version those choices apply to, and a flag showing that you have seen the introduction. This preference record contains no name, email address, visitor ID, or browsing history and stays in your browser. Approved Google tags receive consent states as part of their operation only after permission is granted. Permission is renewed after 180 days or when the configured tracking providers change; the introduction preference remains until this browser’s site data is cleared.

If browser storage is unavailable or you clear site data, your preferences may need to be selected again. The signature intro is skipped on internal navigation, reloads, and return navigation. A new browser or cleared preferences may be treated as a first visit.

Your choices

Reject optional (or Essential only in settings) blocks optional tracking and embedded media. Allow optional permits currently configured categories and embedded media; unconfigured categories remain off. Customize choices lets you choose analytics, advertising and each media provider separately. Settings list configured tracking providers and their privacy policies before you choose. An older choice never grants permission to a newly added tracker. Closing the notice leaves optional features off and does not save a choice. It dismisses the notice only on the current page; it may appear again when you visit another page. Ignoring the notice or continuing to browse does not grant permission. You can change your choice through the Privacy settings link in every page’s footer.

Analytics and advertising

Analytics measures visits, page views and activity to improve the website. Advertising & measurement covers advertising attribution, conversions and remarketing. Depending on the provider, permitted tracking may process device and browser information, IP addresses, page locations, events, and cookie or similar identifiers. You can allow one category without allowing the other. Categories without configured providers remain inactive.

Current configured tracking providers:

Google tags use a consent-gated setup: the site does not load Google’s tracking library or send cookieless consent pings before permission. Meta Pixel is also kept unloaded until advertising consent. A mixed Google Tag Manager container, if configured, requires both analytics and advertising consent before it loads. Each additional provider must be listed and connected to a consent category; no “all other tracking” permission is assumed.

Advertising remains blocked when this browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal. You can still make separate choices for analytics and embedded media. Changing the configured tracking providers prompts a fresh consent choice before their code loads.

    YouTube and Instagram

When you allow a provider and choose to play an embed, your browser contacts that provider. This can disclose your IP address, browser and device information, and the content you view. The provider may use cookies or similar technologies and associate activity with an account you hold with it.

    • YouTube is operated by Google. Videos use YouTube’s privacy-enhanced embed domain. This is not a guarantee that Google processes no data. See the Google privacy policy.
    • Instagram is operated by Meta. Reels use Instagram’s embedded player. See the Instagram privacy policy.

Turning a media provider off removes its active embeds from this site. Withdrawing a tracking category after it has loaded removes its loader and reloads the page so vendor code cannot continue running in that page. Known first-party cookies for the denied tracking category are cleared where browser access permits. A withdrawal does not undo data already sent while permission was active, and an in-flight request may already have left the page. This website cannot delete cookies already set on another provider’s domain; you can remove them using your browser’s privacy settings. External links open the provider’s own website, where its policies and settings apply.

    Speaking inquiries

The inquiry form asks for your name, email, organization, event details, and message. You must agree to sending these details through FormSubmit so Sylvester Williams can respond before submitting an inquiry. The form sends your name, reply email, organization, event details, message and contact-permission confirmation to FormSubmit for email delivery to Sylvester Williams. FormSubmit and the email providers involved process the message for delivery; your browser also sends the network information needed to make that request. See the FormSubmit privacy policy. This submission is not permission for analytics, advertising, or marketing subscriptions. FormSubmit is contacted only after you submit the form, not when the page loads. In browsers using the standard form fallback, FormSubmit may show delivery or security checks.

Inquiry details are used to respond and arrange requested speaking services. Submitting an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing. Please avoid including sensitive personal information that is not needed for your request. To ask about access, correction, or deletion of your inquiry information, contact webmaster@slywilliams.com. Some records may need to be kept for legal or business obligations.

    Website delivery and security

The hosting provider and other delivery services may process network and security information needed to serve and protect the website. Optional media controls do not disable necessary hosting operations or security logs. Browser caching and security behavior are also managed by your browser and the hosting platform.
